In Apukka we welcome you as a dear friend and want to do our very best to provide you a safe haven in the midst of the untouched nature surrounding us.

To take the best possible care of our guests, we’ve taken extra precautionary measures and set up new procedures in our daily routines based on the guidelines provided by the Finnish health authorities.

GENERAL ACTIONS

APUKKA TEAM
Our staff is trained in hygiene protocols to prevent the spread of infectious diseases. Hands are sanitized after each encounter. Our team members are required to stay home if feeling unwell.

SOCIAL DISTANCING
We make sure to keep a safe distance between guests and the Apukka team. Signs are installed to remind our guests to practice social distancing.

LIMITED NUMBER OF PEOPLE
We follow the restrictions and guidelines from the local authorities and pay attention to the number of people in one location throughout our operations.

CLEAN HANDS
We have set up stations with alcohol-based hand sanitizers for guests in public areas and have instructions of sufficient hand washing methods set up in public toilets.

CLEAN SURFACES
We clean and disinfect surfaces frequently throughout the day paying special attention to high-touch areas. We are using high-level hygiene products that still live up to our sustainable code of conduct.

UPON CHECK-IN
We make sure to inform you of the safety procedures and guidelines on how to follow these upon check-in. Protective plexiglass is installed by the front desk counter.

CASH FREE
We offer cash-free methods of payments in our reception, restaurant and bar and recommend our guests to use contactless payments whenever possible.

MASKS AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE
We have masks available for purchase by the front desk area. Masks are included to all our transfers and safaris.

LOOK FOR ANY SYMPTOMS
If you show any signs of COVID-19 infection, please do not enter the resort. We will help to direct you to the local health care to get tested.

ACCOMMODATION

EXTRA CLEAN ROOMS
We have stepped up the daily cleaning in all hotel rooms. We use disinfectant detergents and make sure to pay extra attention to high-touch items and surfaces.

ROOM KEYS
In Apukka the room keys are disinfected in between each guest.

INDEPENDENT ACCOMMODATION UNITS AVAILABLE
At Apukka Resort, in addition to other accommodation units available, you can choose to stay in our Aurora Cabins or Komsio Suites – independent buildings with their own entrances. During the winter season (December – April) you can also book a night in our Aurora Wagon or Ice Hotel Cabin. Like Aurora Cabins and Komsios, our Aurora Wagons and Ice Hotel Cabins are accommodation units completely separate from any public areas at Apukka Resort.

RESTAURANT AITTA

RESTAURANT AITTA
Restaurant Aitta is open during the winter season 2021-2022. Our restaurant staff is ready to serve you with the greatest care and hygiene levels. Please show you the Covid-19 Passport when entering Restaurant Aitta. Unfortunately, you are not allowed to come to Restaurant Aitta without a valid Covid-19 Passport.

THE BAR
Drinks from our bar are served with extra hygiene precautions.

SEATING
Restaurant Aitta has sufficient distance between seatings and tables.

BEFORE, DURING & AFTER
Surfaces are thoroughly cleaned both before and after each seating, public areas (including buffet tables) are kept clean throughout the day.

BUFFET
Social distancing is encouraged when lining for the buffet. Protective plexiglass is installed above the buffet tables. The cutlery used to serve the food on the buffet tables will be changed frequently. COVID-19 guidelines provided by the Finnish health authorities regarding buffets will be followed and acts will take place accordingly.

RESTRICTIONS
We follow the restrictions and guidelines regarding restaurants given by the local authorities.

ACTIVITIES

HYGIENE PROTOCOLS
We implement strict hygiene measures on all of our outdoor activities at departure points, communal areas, safari clothing rooms, and in the wilderness.

MASKS PROVIDED
Masks are included in the price of each safari.

SAFARI CLOTHING & EQUIPMENT
We disinfect snowmobile helmets, winter boots, and overalls after each use. The gloves, woolen socks, beanies, and balaclavas are washed in between each use in sufficient temperatures. Personal balaclavas are also available for purchase at reception. Only a certain amount of people is allowed to the safari clothing room simultaneously to provide all the guests enough personal space.

OUTDOOR MEALS SERVED
Our guides show extra hygiene precautions when handling food outdoors. Disposable gloves are used and hand sanitizer is available for the guests throughout the excursion.

OUTDOOR FIREPLACES
If the weather allows, we aim to have the stops with a bonfire outside rather than in a lavvu to provide all our guests with the best possibilities for social distancing.
